Description

Under the elegant hood of the DB4 is a powerful 3.7-litre straight six-cylinder engine, developed by renowned engineer Tadek Marek. With an output of 240 hp and a torque of 325 Nm, the DB4 reaches a top speed of 225 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km in just 8.5 seconds.

The design of the DB4, created by the Italian Carrozzeria Touring, is a prime example of the perfect blend of form and function. The aluminium body, produced using the patented superleggera (tube-frame) process, makes the car both lightweight and exceptionally stable.

The interior is fitted out with the finest materials, including high-quality leather and polished wood. Carefully designed instruments and the ergonomic dash offer the driver an unparalleled driving experience. From a technical perspective, the DB4 is equipped with independent front suspension using ball-jointed wishbones and coil springs, while the rear axle features trailing arms and torsion bars. The powerful disc brakes on all four wheels offer impressive braking performance.

Our auction vehicle was delivered to T.L Sole, in James Street, London, on 15 January 1962 by Brookland Motors England. It is a series 4 vehicle, one of approximately 180 cars built between September 1961 and October 1962. Details in the service book and the maintenance and repairs carried out by Brookland Motors are documented up to 1966. From then on, all records of the DB4 are lost until 1988, when documentation first reappeared in Switzerland. At that time, the car was probably imported into Switzerland by Beat Roos Automobile in Frauenkappelen.

In later years, the car was converted to left-hand drive and then sold to the current owner in 2016. During its history, the gearbox has been completely overhauled and various other extensive service and maintenance works have been carried out. This is a very well-preserved model that will delight collectors and enthusiasts alike.
