Charming & Classic – the 1973 MGB Cabriolet

In the spring of 1962, the British Motor Corporation launched the MGB Roadster, a fitting successor to the MGA, which had already enjoyed remarkable success. The B continued this story throughout the 1960s – and, once again, the North American market absorbed the roadster like a sponge.

Description

At its debut, the MGB was considered a highly modern motorcar, featuring a monocoque body that reduced weight while providing greater structural rigidity. It also offered improved spatial efficiency: the new convertible was more spacious than its predecessor, despite being slightly shorter in overall length.

The example we are offering boasts a delightful colour combination: green exterior with a cognac interior. As an early 1970s model, it is also equipped with headrests and seatbelts. The current owner acquired the car in the summer of 2018, and since then nearly 7,000 francs have been invested in this cabriolet, which today presents itself in very fine condition. An ideal entry point into the world of classic cars, and a truly British roadster – particularly appealing, one might add, to younger drivers in general. The vehicle’s authenticity is further supported by a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate. It is also fitted with a valid veteran certification dated June 2022.
